Course Description:
This Proseminar is required of all 1st and 2nd year students in both fall and spring semesters. Its aim is to provide skills training for a successful career in philosophy. Some of these skills are research-focused, i.e., reading and analyzing articles, presenting work, engaging in constructive philosophical discussion. Some are career-focused, i.e., how to plan your PhD, publish articles, build a strong dossier for the job market. The course also functions as a regular meeting place for 1st and 2nd year students, to get to know each other and build community.
